| We got out to our stands very early on the second day of Illinois shotgun season. It was about 40 minutes before the sun began to shine in full force. This gave me plenty of time to think of the previous 2 weeks. Two weeks in which a monster whitetail had been spotted by both my dad and our neighbor. I also thought back to the previous morning when a beautiful buck presented itself in the bottoms but walked away from me, leaving no shot to be had. I also realized at this time that we had forgotten to bring out our walkie talkies, a must when several hunters are all out at once. |
