| I said a prayer that somehow I could thread a bolt through that small hole and double lung the animal. Some how my Excalibur crossbow released smoothly and my Wasp- tipped 2219 was on its way at 320 feet per second. The doe remaind in the area but the buck quickly walked ahead and out of sight. |

| I shortly left and called Frank who came right over. We waited until after dark and with a spotlights returned to the stand with my son. I climbed up with a light and found a small shooting hole and said there is the path the buck was on. My buddy said "Here is the arrow and a good blood trail. We started tracking and in 25 yards my son announced, "there's your deer. The excitement increased as we viewed his beautiful matched 9-inch drop tines and massive rack and I realize that my prayer had been answered with the deer of a lifetime. Weighing in at 214 dressed, He was aged at 5-1/2 years and measured 179-puls points. Truly this double droptine, Old "DDT" was meant for me. |
