| I SHOT THIS DEER ON THE 1ST DAY OF SHOTGUN SEASON IN THE AFTER NOON, ABOUT A HALF HOUR TO AN HOUR BEFORE DARK. I HAD BEEN SITTING IN MY CLIMBER SINCE ABOUT 2;00. I HADSEEN A FEW DOES, BUT NO BUCKS. THEN A FEW DOES AND 2 BUCKS ALL WALKED BY ABOUT THE SAME TIME. I LOOKED AT THE 2 BUCKS. THEY BOTH HAD NICE WIDE RACKS BUT I PICKED THE ONE THAT I THOUGHT LOOKED THE BEST AND SHOT HIM BROAD SIDE AT 40 OR 50 YARDS. HE DID NOT RUN FAR BEFORE HE WENT DOWN FOR GOOD. I HAD HUNTED EARLIER THAT DAY BUT HAD NOT SEEN ANY DEER, SO I DECIDED TO MOVE TO THAT SPOT AND I WAS SURE GLAD I DID. |
